CICC Registration

Immigration consulting in Canada is a regulated profession. The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) is the national body that licenses and oversees Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs).

Under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, only three groups may represent you for a fee before Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada: a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant in good standing with the CICC, a lawyer or paralegal who is a member of a Canadian provincial or territorial law society, or a notary of the Chambre des notaires du Québec.

Anyone else who charges a fee to advise or represent you is operating unlawfully.

Our licence details are being published here. In the meantime, please request your consultant's RCIC number directly — by email at info@globallinkconsulting.org or by phone at +1 (416) 755-8883 — and verify it on the CICC public register before engaging our services.

Never take a claim of registration on trust — including ours. Every RCIC has a licence number that you can check yourself on the CICC's public register, which shows the consultant's current status and any disciplinary history.

Search the register at https://college-ic.ca/protecting-the-public/find-an-immigration-consultant. If a person cannot give you a licence number, or the number does not match their name on the register, do not proceed.

Before you sign anything

• Confirm the consultant's name and licence number on the CICC public register yourself.
• Insist on a written retainer agreement setting out the services and the full fee.
• Get a receipt for every payment, made payable to the firm — never to an individual.
• Never sign a blank or incomplete form, and never allow anyone to submit information you know to be untrue.
• Keep your own copies of every document and form submitted on your behalf.

Our recruitment services for employers and candidates are a separate business line and are not regulated by the CICC. Where a recruitment engagement also requires immigration work, that portion is handled by an authorised representative.

You also have the right to complain to the CICC at any time. The College investigates complaints about the conduct of its licensees independently, and its complaints process is described on its website.
